The Interconnected Throw by Mpumelelo Nyuswa was the winning patterns of the annual Young Designer Competition 2022. Mpumelelo is a 24 year old interior designer by profession and a freelance graphic designer born and raised in Durban.
" The design is inspired by Kuhlangene which means connected in IsiZulu. It is a play of 'Iziqhaza' or African ear piercings. Mpumelelo interpreted those patterns in a modern context. The circular and curved shapes convey a continuous cycle of life, a youthful spirit, and the fact that connection to people is the most important aspect of being human." - MpumeleloSomething Good use art and design to encourage well-being, happiness and purpose. The aim is to make a gentle, positive impact in the lives of clients and collaborators, and in the process leaving the world a better place.
